Description:
We are looking for a smart and passionate person to join our Taxonomy team. As a Taxonomist, you will build world-class, intuitive, and comprehensive taxonomy and ontology structures to optimize global, online product discovery for our Amazon Web and Mobile experiences.Â
Responsibilities:
A. Develop taxonomy data models to organize our extensive product selection for customers on all Amazon sites.
B. Coordinate cross-functional projects with a broad range of technical and non-technical teams.
C. Train and develop peers in improving taxonomy design and implementation challenges.
D. Work with global team of taxonomists to significantly contribute to process and site improvement efforts.
Requirements:
A. Degree in Library Science, Information Systems, Linguistics or equivalent professional experience.
B. 3+ years of relevant work experience.
C. Experience in taxonomy and/or ontology development.
D. Ability to quickly understand complex processes and communicate them in simple language.
E. Proven skills in data retrieval and data research techniques.
