About National Park Service:
The National Park Service is an agency of the federal government of the United States that manages all national parks, many national monuments, and other conservation and historical properties with various title designations.
Responsibilities:
1. Feeds and cares for 6 to 10 mules and 4 to 6 saddle horses. Feeds and wrangles stock in backcountry settings. trains and corrects behavior problems in horses and mules.
2. Administers medications to stock. Performs farrier duties including emergency field shoeing and trimming.
3. Builds loads and packs food, tools, camp equipment, explosives, supplies and materials to trail crews.
Requirements:
1. U.S. Citizenship required.
2. Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
3. Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males.
4. Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program.
